Rob Benson has joined as senior communications manager, having spent the last five years in digital communication for the NHS on a local and national scale. In his time in the NHS, Rob also provided knowledge management support, and developed a social enterprise focussed on digital public engagement.
Previous to the NHS, Rob worked as web manager for a large Midlands university. He has also held editorial and account management roles on a range of private sector websites.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and his experience includes strategic marketing, digital and social media strategy, content marketing, business planning and copywriting.
Benson said: “I have worked with the Highland Marketing team over the past few months in a freelance capacity, and I have been impressed by the quality of the team, the services they deliver and an impressive and growing client base. It is an honour to be joining an organisation that has such an in-depth understanding of the healthcare market, and to be working in a field that is at the forefront of delivering better patient care.”
Mark Venables, CEO of Highland Marketing, added: “We’re growing at a significant rate which is a reflection of our recognition as an established, trusted marketing communications agency focused purely on the healthcare industry. This is what makes us unique and to retain this model we only recruit staff of the highest calibre with a proven track record of excellence in marketing specific to this industry. Rob fits this perfectly. His broad range of skills and NHS experience will be an asset to Highland Marketing and its clients.”
