As a UK SME, working with healthcare organisations, and the digital innovators that support them, we recognise that we have a particular responsibility to mitigate the impact of climate change and environmental degradation on the people who are alive today and on future generations.
We have developed an environmental and sustainability policy that outlines our commitments and the actions we will take to achieve them. Our objectives are to baseline and monitor our environmental impact, and to reduce it by cutting the carbon emissions associated with our business, sourcing the products and services we need responsibly, and minimising waste.
We are also looking to raise awareness of environmental issues among our employees, contractors, and valued clients, and to encourage them to participate in our initiatives. These include: minimising business travel, and opting for the lowest carbon option when it is essential; choosing green hotels and food options; moving towards paperless working; picking low-carbon devices and power sources; and manging e-waste in line with best practice.
Highland Marketing is using the year ending 31 March 2024 as our baseline year and have made a pledge to be carbon neutral for each financial year going forward. Where we cannot eliminate our carbon emissions, we will offset them, participating in conservation initiatives and restoration programmes in our base in Scotland whenever possible.
We know that many of our colleagues and friends in the NHS and health tech are already making their own commitments to the environment, and we look forward to working on them with you.
